In its role as World Data Centre for Geomagnetism (Edinburgh) we make available the following data for scientific research. INTERMAGNET is the International Real-time Magnetic observatory Network. It aims to establish a global network of magnetic observatories, operating to global standards of measuring and recording. This enables rapid data exchanges between countries and allow geomagnetic products to be produced in near real-time. BGS operates a Geomagnetic Information Node (GIN) for INTERMAGNET.
